Since 1973 we train at our factory metal technicians with great success. Our apprentices achieve in competitions always excellent results and pass the final examination with distinction.

We are a Tyrolean family owend company with experience since 1956 in the manufacturing and selling of high quality and precision woodworking machines located in Telfs / Tirol. Our customers range from a one-man-cabinetmaker up to the furniture industry.

Criteria for being awarded a >State-Certified Teaching Company< include; successes in final apprenticeship exams as well as national competitions, commitment of the apprentice trainers, commitment in the field of career information, cooperation between the apprenticeship company and the further training offer for apprentices and trainers.

We have repeatedly obtained the honorable certificate >State-awarded Tyrolean Teaching Company<. This is a great pleasure for us, because it shows us once more, that our internal education standards are at a very high quality level.

This national award >State-awarded Tyrolean Teaching Company< is awarded by the Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Labour. This ceremony will be held on the proposal of a jury which is confirmed by the provincial government. Certain requirements must be met to get this award. The company must educate apprentices on a long term with success and must have the necessary equipment and organisation for the required apprenticeship. Also additional services which are offered by the company, whose go beyond the standard, are included in the review. These includes additional qualifications (upskills) for apprentices and trainers, the excellent performance of apprentices in competitions or in the final examination. Only companies that have been tested to these strict standards and guarantee exemplary apprenticeship receive this award. The predicate >State-awarded Tyrolean Teaching Company< is a quality seal for the dual apprenticeship in Tyrol.

Trial apprenticeship

The company Gannomat offers motivated young people the chance of trial apprenticeship. The trial apprenticeship takes 3 to 5 days. This training serves as a guidance for the apprentice, the parents and the training company. During this time a number of activities of the teaching profession are performed. During this trial apprenticeship a >Gannomat aptitude test< is made. In the profession mechanical engineering mathematics, logic thinking, precission, spatial ability and technical drawing are required.

Apprenticeship with A-level: metal technician / mechanical engineer

At the engineering company Gannomat you can learn the profession:
Metal technician - HM mechanical engineering / LB metal technician - HM mechanical engineering
Job profile: period of apprenticeship 3 ½ years

The main activities at a glance:
• to program and operate CNC-controlled metal working machines
• processing metal working methods like:
metal drilling, metal turning, metal milling/routing, metal grinding, steel construction etc.
• to use various welding techniques like: gas fusion-, electro- and inert gas welding
• to produce machine components according to the accuracy specifications
• to measure and test the manufactured parts
• to assemble machinery and equipement, to check and operate machineries
• to assemble and test electronic components (control units)
• trouble shooting and fault elimination in plant machines and systems
• install replacement parts and machine components, setting functions, perform test runs
• to perform regular maintenance and service work on plant machines and systems
• to observe safety requirements and quality standards
